1862 Dated Columbus Georgia Private Note From Dillard, Powell & Company

Here is a neat private script note issued from Columbus, Georgia. This one was issued Dillard, Powell & Co. in the amount of $2.00. It has the printed date of issue of August 1st 1862. PCGS These notes were printed on the back of John G. Winter fractional notes payable at Bank of St. Marys, Office at Columbus. The left hand side of the note has the likeness of Thomas Crawford's Freedom which was placed upon the U.S. Capitol dome in 1863. It is in well circulated condition and displays well. The note measures 6 inches by 2-5/8ths inches. It comes in an acid-free holder for display and preservation.
