Scarce Excavated Gang Mold For Making .44 Caliber Colt Revolver Bullets
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a piece that we haven't been able to offer before. You see these in non-excavated condition fairly regularly but this is the first excavated example we have ever been able to offer. It is an original "Gang" style bullet mold for .44 caliber Colt revolvers. It measures almost 13 inches in overall length and weighs almost 3 pounds. This is the large size mold that produces six of the conical style bullets for the .44 caliber Civil War army model revolver. This one is frozen in time from the years in the ground. It has the iron sprue cutter present at the top. On the ends of the legs it would have originally had the original wooden handles that were lost to the elements. The iron has a very cool ancient look to the metal. This is a great Colt accessory.
