Great Looking Original 1862 Dated Virginia $5 With State Seal Image

This is a very attractive 1862 dated Civil War state of Virginia five dollar note. This one was issued March 13, 1862 in Richmond, VA and it has that printed date in the top center of the note. It is correctly hand signed and numbered. On the right side it has the beautiful Virginia State Seal. The Virginia seal which shows Virtus holding a spear in one hand and a sword in the other hand. She is standing with Tyranny at her feet. In the center of the note it has the likeness of Jonathan Bennett who served as the Public Account Auditor for the state of Virginia. He has a very stately look to his face. The note is over printed with green ink which makes it stand out from many of the other notes of the Civil War. The overall size of the note measures 7.5 inches by 3-1/8th inches. This one is in attractive circulated condition. It comes in an acid free holder for conservation and display.
