Here is a nice piece to add to your Civil War military rifle. This is the classic leather and brass sling that went on the U.S. model 1855, 1861 or 1865 military rifles. It would be correct for a Springfield rifle or any rifle made by one of the government contract maker made rifles. The leather is still pliable with the brass adjuster is still present on the end. The loops have shrunken over the years so it is snug getting the length adjustment loop but it does fit. These are tough to find and this one has a pretty brown tone to the leather.
