1862 Dated $3 Banking Note From The Black River Bank in Watertown, New York

Here is a neat Civil War banking note from Watertown, New York. It is a counterfeit note that was to look like it was issued from the Black River Bank. This counterfeit is known in a red or green tint. This is a Fine example of the green tint variety. The bank operated from 1844 until it became the First National Bank of Watertown in 1864. It was designed to look like it was issued for the amount of $3.00 with the printed date of issuance of May 1st 1862. It measures 7 inches by 2-7/8ths inches. The note is correctly hand signed and numbered. It comes in an acid-free holder for display and preservation.
