LIQUOR MERCHANT! 1862 Dated Asa Holt 50 Cent Note From Mobile, Alabama

Here is a cool Civil War date piece of currency from Mobile, Alabama. This one was issued by merchant, Asa Holt for the amount of 25 Cents. It has the printed date of issue of March 1st 1862 with the center image of the steam train on the tracks. It has great margins for this type and with dark red protector that reads "FIFTY CENTS". Asa Holt was a liquor merchant in Mobile and these notes were payable at his cousin's coffee house in New Orleans. The note measures 5-1/4th inches by 2-7/8ths inches. It comes in an acid-free holder for display and preservation.
