Authentic 1861 Production Date .58 Caliber Austrian Lorenz Rifle

Here is a good looking original Civil War .58 caliber Austrian Lorenz pattern rifle. These Austrian rifles were well made and wereused by soldiers on both sides of the Civil War. This one has the production date clear visible on the lockplate. You can see the "861" which was the Austrian way of denoting the 1861 production date. Behind the hammer it has the Austrian style eagle stamp still visible. This is the classic style that was used by soldiers on both sides of the Civil War. The action of the lockplate catches on both positions. The barrel is full-length and has the front sight present with the rear sight that is the large stud style and is original to the gun. Inside the barrel it is the original .58 caliber size and you can still see the original rifling but it is dirty. Both of the original sling swivels are still present on the underside of the rifle. The ramrod is is a nice looking original with the correct style brass end tip. The stock has a very pleasing look with excellent grain pattern. If you have wanted a nice displaying original Civil War Austrian rifle, then this baby is for you.
