Very Cool Excavated Confederate Tin Drum Style Soldier's Canteen
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a great piece of history from one of the Civil War's most famous engagements. This is a militia style tin drum campaign that was most often utilized by Confederate soldiers. The verbal history is that this one was found eons ago in the area of Chickamauga, Georgia. It is very fragile but still displays well. The canteen itself measures 5-1/2 inches across and is 2-1/4th inches thick. As you can see it is damaged and the losses on the one side especially, but it still displays well and is a great piece of history.
