Click on an image to enlarge
This is a nice Civil War image. It is a small size tintype image of a Union soldier in uniform. The young man is wearing his military style uniform great coat. The image is mounted on a paper stock that is the size of a CDV image. On the back of the paper it has the pencil identification of "Daniel Beatty 1863". The records show that Daniel L. Beatty enlisted on September 2nd 1863 in the 83rd New York Infantry. He served with them until June of 1864 when he transferred to the 97th New York. They also note that he was a drummer. They were also in the thick at the Battle of Gettysburg. A brief printout of Beatty and the 83rdservice will accompany the piece. The piece is very nice and clear and display superbly.
