Very Nice Non-Excavated Civil War Infantry Officer's Eagle "I" Coat Button

This is a very nice looking button. It is an excellent original 23mm coat size infantry officer's button. This version that was quite popular before and during the Civil War. This is the 2-piece style that was worn by well-to-do infantry officers. On the face of the button it has the eagle design with the shield on her chest. It has the "I" in the center that denotes the Infantry branch of service. It has the backmark of "HORSTMANN BRO & CO * PHIL * ." . The original back and shank are present and in fine shape. This is a beautiful non-excavated infantry Eagle "I" pattern button.
