Click on an image to enlarge

This is an attractive original Civil War era powder flask. This one has the body has the brass tone copper sides with the image of the hunter holding his rifle with his pair of hunting dogs on the one side. It stands about 8-1/4th inches tall and is about 3-1/2 inches across. It has a beautiful copper tone patina to the brass with some bumps and bruises from being carried. It is the version that doesn't have the strap rings on the sides. The spout is present and the spring is still functional. Along the side of the spout it is marked "I.P. CUTTS". It is also marked long the top of the flask itself with "CUTTS PATENT". This is the style flask that was popular during the mid-1800's and this size would have been for a high quality large pistol or rifle. It has a very attractive overall look!
