Scarce Original Excavated .58 Caliber Civil War Rifle Bullet with Skin Cartridge
Click on an image to enlarge

This is a cool piece! This is an original Civil War cartridge for the .58 caliber military rifle. This is a classic style of bullet that was used by Civil War soldiers on each side. The bullet is in cool excavated condition and even has the majority of the original "skin" style cartridge attached. It is rare to find one of these where the skin remains after the years in the ground. These .58 caliber cartridges were the backbone of the infantry during the Civil War. They would fit any .58 caliber rifle including the U.S. model 1855,1861 or 1863 rifles or even the Confederate Richmond rifle as well. This is a great looking piece that any collector would enjoy having.
