Here is a cool looking early 1800's English flintlock pistol. It is the version that is known as the English Pattern Light Dragoon Flintlock. This one fires a .65 caliber ball which is the correct size for an English carbine bore. This one has the full-length 9 inch pinned barrel. Along the top of the barrel, it has the engraved "5-D-GNS" for the 5th Regiment of Dragoons. What makes this one special is that it is in the original flint lock configuration. The lockplate is crisply marked with the British Crown over the top of the "GR" marking for the reign of King George. The barrel has the English military proof marks. It is crafted with the brass furniture that includes lobed butt cap, flat S-shaped side plate, triggerguard, and Pratt pattern ramrod pipe. In the channel under the barrel it has a modern made replacement ramrod present. The dark walnut wood tock has the raised carved apron around breech plug tang. This is a cool looking well-worn Napoleonic Wars dated British dragoon pistol.
