Here is a very nice looking original Civil War .58 caliber Austrian Lorenz pattern rifle. This one has the production date clear visible on the lockplate. You can see the "860" which was the Austrian way of denoting the 1860 production date. Behind the hammer it has the Austrian style eagle stamp still partially visible. This is the classic style that was used by soldiers on both sides of the Civil War. The action of the lockplate works very crisply on all positions. The barrel is full-length and has the front sight present to go along with a stud style rear sight. Inside the barrel it is the original .58 caliber size abut you can see a fine amount of the original rifling. Both of the sling swivels are present under the gun. The ramrod is is a nice looking ancient replacement. The stock has a very pleasing look with excellent grain pattern. What makes this one extra special is the on the flat opposite of the lockplate as well as on the wrist it has some of the "OHIO" stamping still visible. That lets us know that this gun was used during our Civil War. If you have wanted a nice displaying original Civil War Austrian rifle then this baby is for you.
