This gun has a very cool look from just before the Revolutionary War. This gun fires a bullet of about .65 caliber from the full-length 10 inch barrel. The barrel is made of brass which stands out from most of the day. The gun is crafted using and iron lock that has the intricate floral engraving. The top of the barrel is clearly marked "LONDON". The left side of the barrel breech is clearly marked with the star over "RW". This is the marking for the maker, Richard Wilson and it also has the London proof marks. Richard Wilson was a British gunmaker who lived from 1703 until 1766 & was contractor for both the Hudson Bay Company & East India Company. The lock is not functioning properly & will require attention to fix. It still has springs and only occasionally catches. It is detailed with the brass furniture with the floral engraving. It is accented with the classic grotesque mask face on bottom of grip. One sideplate screw is missing & one of the present screws appears replaced. It has the ornate relief carved hardwood stock with floral carving behind upper tang. The stock has the brass decoration present on top of wrist and it is engraved with the Latin words "DITAT VIRTTUS" (Virtue enriches). In the channel under the barrel, it has the brass tipped hardwood ramrod secured by a brass thimble & pipe. The stock has some added finish with scattered modern filler repairs, there are a couple thin cracks, scattered handling wear & flaking. This is a cool looking gun that we know was made before the Revolutionary War because of the Wilson maker mark.

If for any reason you are unhappy with the relic just return it UNALTERED within 5 days for a refund minus shipping charges and restocking fee of 6%. Layaways can be arranged on items over $100. Layaway terms are; 1/3 down and 1/3 in 30 days with balance due in full in 60 days. Due to time factors there are no refunds or price discounts on layaways.
