This is a great looking piece of history from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic or G.A.R. was the organization made up of Union Survivors of the Civil War. They held reunion and erected monuments to the men that fought for the north during the Civil War. This ribbon was to commemorate the 1922 Department of Michigan reunion of the G.A.R. that was held in Detroit, Michigan. The ribbon is red, white and blue with gold lettering. It reads the 1922 reunion date and Detroit location and "MEMBER" which let us know it was worn by a veteran and isn't just a souvenir anyone could buy. The original stick pin is on the reverse of the top bar. This is an excellent ribbon for any collection.
