Scarce Eley Brother Percussion Cap Tin for Sporting Arms
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a neat accessory! It is an original larger size tin of percussion caps. This is the style that was made by the famous firm of the Eley Brothers in London and is so marked on the original paper label on the tin. In the center of the label it reads "Percussion Caps No. 10". It also notes that it was made for Sporting Arms. The back side states that it would work for Snider rifles or Springfield rifles or Colts. The notation of the Snider gun means this one would have been made after the Civil War but it will still look nice in any cased set. The tin still retains about 75% of the original paper wrapper and you can hear some of the caps inside. It stands 1-3/8ths inches tall and is 1-9/16ths inches across. This is a great piece for a cased Colt or just to display with your gun.
