Here is a fantastic looking Spanish flintlock pistol that would have been made about 1740s. This gun fires a smoothbore round ball of about .65 caliber. It is finely crafted as you can see in the images. It has the 1-piece walnut wooden stock with raised carvings around the barrel tang, lock, trigger guard, ramrod channel, barrel, and side plate. The gun is detailed with the brass fittings that includes the grip cap and ramrod channel guides. There are several places where the wood of the stock has been finely repaired and it displays beautifully as you see. On the flat opposite of the lockplate, it has the wonderful cut outs and engraving to the brass. The gun is still in the original flintlock configuration and the mechanics still catch crisply on both positions. It has the 1700's style stepped-tail lock that is marked "CASA" in front of the hammer. It has the full-length 12-1/2 inch octagonal to round barrel. At the breech, it has the Spanish style proof marks on the top barrel flat, and one on the left side. These are sunken marks with the gold detail wash down in the markings. In the channel under the barrel, it has the wooden ramrod with a flat brass tip. This is an impressive looking large size flintlock pistol in beautiful condition.
