Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a neat piece! It is original sheet music from the Civil War. This one is entitled "Southern Medley" and was written by C. Kinkel and notes that it contains the Bonnie Blue Flag, My Maryland, Dixie and Buckner's Quick Step.". This one was published by Tripp and Cragg in Louisville, Kentucky and is so marked on the front cover which is now detached from the rest. On the first page, it has the notation that it was "Entered according to Act of Congress, A.D. 1862, by Tripp & Cragg in the Clerks Officer of District of District Court of KY." along the bottom. The sheets are all present and he paper has some chips along the edges but it displays well. The piece measures 10 inches by 13 inches in overall size. You see Northern sheet music fairly often but you don't see the Southern Sheet music very often.
