Here is an original land grant given for land from a sale in Chicago. This was granting 80 acres and if I read the markings correctly the internet says that the land was in Ohio. It was granting Frederic Branson of New York County, New York, 80 acres in " the west half of the South East Quarter of Section twenty two, in Township thirty nine North of Range thirteen east...". The document measures 16 inches by 10 inches in size. It is beautiful and has the pre-printed paper with the blanks filled in using fine brown ink. In the lower left hand corner, it has the applied great seal. In the lower right hand corner, it has the secretarial signed signature of President Martin Van Buren. One thing that is neat about this is that it is secretarially signed by his son, Martin van Buren, Jr. Van Buren was born on December 5th 1782 in Kinderhook, New York. He was a founder of the Democratic Party and served as New York's 9th Governor. His service continued by serving as the eighth Vice President and the tenth Secretary of State, both under President Andrew Jackson. Van Buren served as President for one term but continued in politics of the Democratic Party. He supported Lincoln even though he was a Democrat and he died in July 1862, at age 79. He is buried in his hometown of Kinderhook, New York. Some of these land grants were signed by the President but most were signed for him by a secretary like this one. The document is accompanied by a modern xerox image of President Van Buren. This is a great document from the Van Buren administration.

Layaway terms are; 1/3 down and 1/3 in 30 days with balance due in full in 60 days. Due to time factors there are no refunds or price discounts on layaways.
