Here is a very interesting excavated token. This is the first one of these that I have encountered. It is a thin brass token that measures 1-1/16ths inches across. You can see that it had a hole put in it. When I looked online I was only able to find a couple of examples and they appeared to be thicker and more well struck. In the side that is the toughest to make out, it has the AUGUSTA PRINCESS OF WALES wording with the likeness of the Princess in the middle. Below her likeness it would say "BORN . NOV . 30 . 1719" On the other side, it has the wording around the edge that states "A MUCH INJURED VICTIM. In the center of this side, it has the image of a Phoenix and below the bird it has the " DIED 8 FEB 1772." How this one ended up in a Civil War campsite is beyond me but here it is.
