Neat Civil War Era Brass Handled Folding Hoof Scraper
Click on an image to enlarge
here is a neat piece. I just picked this piece up from a collection in Ohio. It is a folding scraper for use on horse hooves. It has the blade on the main portion of the blade with the scooped end for digging things out. It folds up with the brass body section. When it is opened up, it measures 6-1/2 inches from tip to tip. The brass has a pleasing tone and the blade has the deep dark tone with an old salt a pepper surface.
