Rare Authentic Excavated Revolutionary War Era Iron Hand Grenade
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a very scarce original Revolutionary War era hand grenade. These are often called boarding balls because they were used when the soldiers would board enemy ships to overtake them. This beauty is in fine shape and you can see traces of the mold seam around the ball and the fuse hole is open. These would have been fierce weapons in their day. I acquired this one from Jack Bell, who authored the book on Civil War Heavy Artillery. We haven't been able to get one of these in a while so don't wait to order this one.
