This is a very cool piece of Confederate currency! It is an original 1862 dated $3.00 note issued by the firm of Cook & Brothers of New Orleans. Cook was one of the foremost manufacturers of weapons for the Confederate service. They were proud of their service as you can tell because of the crossed rifled on the left hand side of the note with the canteen in the center. In the center of the note it has the symbols of manufacture and agriculture with the sailing ship in the background. This one has the nice green ink "THREE" printed on the lower section of the note. This was added to the note to help prevent counterfeiting. The note is correctly hand signed and numbered. It also has the written date of issuance of March 15th 1862. The back of the note has the pale green ink printing with the large "THREE DOLLARS" in the center. The note has been professionally graded by the PCGS Company and they rated it as a "Very Fine". It comes in their acid-free holder for display and preservation. This is a fine looking piece of currency from one of the most famous maker's of Confederate guns and swords.
