Very Cool Looking Minnesota Firearms "THE PROTECTOR" Palm Pistol from the 1890's
Click on an image to enlarge

This is one of the coolest guns ever made in the U.S. It is what collectors call the "Palm Pistol". They get their name because of the way the mechanism works. The gun fits perfectly into the palm of your hand and the action works by squeezing your grip to rotate the internal cylinders. The trigger is on the bottom side of the barrel by your finger. The mechanics on this gun still works well just as it should. They fire .32 caliber extra short cartridges. They are maker marked "MINNESOTA FIREARMS CO. THE PROTECTOR" on one side and the other has "PATENTED MARCH 6, 1883". It still retains a small amount of the original nickel finish. According to Flayderman they only made about 12,800 of these guns and this one has the matching serial numbers of 2,865. This is a cool little gun that displays quite well.
